About Kentucky Gourd Society, Inc.

Kentucky Gourd Society, Inc. is an association of people interested in growing and/or crafting gourds. It was organized in 1995 as the IOTA chapter of the American Gourd Society. The purpose of the society is to encourage the growing of gourds, to promote the use of gourds and to provide other information about gourds. The Annual Gourd Art Show in May, features an exhibition competition of dried and crafted gourds, crafting supplies and books, and gourd crafting workshops and classes. During the year, members of Kentucky Gourd Society, Inc. receive four newsletters. Two or more workshops are provided for members each year. At least two business meetings are conducted annually.

The Gourd Vine is the informational arm of Kentucky Gourd Society, Inc. Included in its pages are business reports that range from articles on the growing, harvesting, curing and crafting of gourds to the sale of seeds, dried gourds and crafts. The times and locations of gourd society meetings and workshops are also published. On the lighter side are gourd tales told by gourd members. In addition to our newsletter we have added the Kentucky Gourd Society official website to help keep our members informed with the latest news and information.

Membership Dues for Kentucky Gourd Society, Inc. are only $10 per year, ($13.00 per year outside of the USA). Membership covers all members of a family living at the same address. Joining Kentucky Gourd Society, Inc. is simple. Just go to our Membership page and print out the form. Fill in your information and mail it in with a check or money order.
